Kohathites


Kohathites
Claimed to be descended from a son of Levi (Gen. 46:11) and therefore to have an important role in worship. They were responsible for the Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle [[➝ tabernacle]] (Num. 4:4–20) and prepared the shewbread (1 Chron. 9:32).
